Arne Haugen Sørensen (1932-) finds his expression in painting, mosaic, graphics and watercolour. In the 1960s he began to work on his highly imaginative, colourist and figurative works with fragments of people and animals. Several of these works deal with myths or stories from the Bible, and Arne Haugen Sørensen has been commissioned to decorate a number of churches in Denmark. He has received several honorary awards, including the Eckersberg Medal in 1975 and the Thorvaldsen Medal in 1984. He is the brother of Jørgen Haugen Sørensen.
