Bjørn Nørgaard

The Danish sculptor Bjørn Nørgaard (1947-) works with a wide variety of media, such as plaster, bricks and iron. In addition to his sculptures, throughout the 1960s and 1970s he organised a number of happenings. For example, in 1970, together with Lene Adler Petersen, he was responsible for the controversial horse slaughter as part of an exhibition at Louisiana. The artist is also famous for being commissioned by the Queen to decorate the great hall of Christiansborg Castle with 17 tapestries.
