The Danish artist Ole Sporring (1941-) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he later worked as a professor. He expresses himself mainly in painting and graphics. Sporring’s subjects are based on real events and on our collective consciousness. He thus creates fertile ground for the discussion of political and social issues such as nuclear power. He has received several honorary awards, including the Eckersberg Medal in 1983 and the Thorvaldsen Medal in 2001.
