What do you think a real Statue of Liberty looks like?
The artist Dorothy Iannone had her own idea. She created a whopping great big Statue of Liberty. Painted directly on to the wall of the museum!
We’ll be waiting for you in the exhibition with all the necessary materials. Inspired by the various artworks, using white wax crayon on white paper, you can draw an outline of your very own Statue of Liberty. Afterwards, we will proceed to the Art Lab, where you can conjure up your drawing with beautiful tempera coloured paints. It’s pure magic. Look forward to endless colour, imagination and family fun.
Finally, if you fancy the idea, you can contribute to a huge joint work featuring loads of wonderful, different Statues of Liberty.
The joint work will also be a loving tribute to Dorothy Iannone. who was still painting in late 2022, when she was almost 90 years old!
Please note that there may waiting time for this activity. Fortunately, though, there are tons of other fun things to do in the museum until it’s time for your turn in the Art Lab.
All the activities are for the whole family, and children must be accompanied by at least one adult.
