Come and join us for croquis in the exhibition. We’ll explore the beautiful folds and shapes of the body through drawing – amidst the evocative exhibitions in Kunsten.
Croquis is a special style of drawing, in which you sketch a subject in just a few minutes. Often we will draw living bodies, but occasionally we’ll focus instead on selected sculptures or works in a current exhibition.
Kunsten’s resident artist, Inge Tranter will guide you through drawing exercises of various duration, challenging you with creative backheels, and inspiring you to experiment with different stylistic expressions and drawing techniques. Meanwhile, the model of the day will move from one position to another. Each time we’ll pop up in a new place in the exhibitions, so we can also draw fresh inspiration from the techniques, moods, art forms and architecture that surround us.
Inge will have stools, paper, drawing tools and drawing boards for you to borrow, but you are also welcome to bring your own pencil – one that fits particularly well in your hand. There’ll be one or two breaks along the way, so you’ll have time for a quick drink in the Brasserie, a look at the selection of unique designs and creative tools for sale in the Kunsten shop, or a tour of the other exhibitions.
Croquis is for everyone. Anyone can join in, whether a seasoned artist or a total novice who would like to move on from matchstick people.
