Creative workshops
Creative workshops with workshops, drawing courses and artistic experiments
Unleash your creativity in this artistic workshop. Here, an artist will provide you with guidance in the use of materials and methods, as you make your very own Watercolour-pallette to take home and paint new works of art from.
Have you ever wondered where the paint in your palette comes from? Are there times when you can’t find the right shade of sunset orange, forest lake blue or grass green in your palette?
Today, artists buy ready-made materials. However, up until the 18th century, the artist or their assistants mixed their own paints. They bought the pigments at apothecary shops or from special paint dealers and combined them with gum arabic or some other kind of binding agent.
In this workshop we’ll be making our own watercolour paint – just likee they did all those years ago. We’ll experiment with creating our own personal colour palettes. What do you think yours will look like?
About the Art Workshops
The art workshops are all about using materials. You will be guided and supervised by a trained artist. Together we explore and experiment, discovering the potential of a particular technique or material. Given the experimental nature of the workshops, you can approach the content on your terms.
Your ticket includes excellent materials and expert guidance from our resident artist. You never know what you’ll be working with, so don’t wear your best clothes!
You’re welcome to buy drinks or snacks in Brasserie Kunsten to keep you going as you experiment away in the workshop. We advise you to reserve a table, if you plan on eating in the Brasserie after the event.
