Creative workshops with workshops, drawing courses and artistic experiments
Join a croquis session. We’ll explore the beautiful curves and shapes of the body, drawing in the setting of Kunsten’s evocative exhibitions.
Croquis is a special style of drawing, in which you sketch a subject for just a few minutes. Often we will draw living bodies, but occasionally we’ll focus instead on selected sculptures or works in a current exhibition.
Inge Tranter, Kunsten’s own resident artist, will guide you through various drawing exercises of varying length. She will challenge you with creative obstacles, and inspire you to experiment with different stylistic expressions and drawing techniques, as the model of the day moves from one position to another. Each time we’ll pop up in a new place in the exhibitions, so we can also draw fresh inspiration from the techniques, moods, art forms and architecture that surround us.
Inge will have stools, paper, drawing tools and drawing boards for you to borrow. There’ll be one or two breaks during the session, so you’ll have time for a quick drink in the Brasserie, a look at the selection of unique designs and creative tools for sale in the Kunsten shop, or a tour of the other exhibitions.
Croquis is for everyone, and, whether you are a seasoned artist or a total novice who would like to move on from matchstick people, you are more than welcome.
The croquis sessions take place on selected Tuesdays from 6.00 to 7.00 pm and again from 7.30 to 8.30 pm. Once you have decided to take part, book a place in one or both of the sessions. The setting and the intervals will be the same in the two sessions, but the model will of course change position along the way.
