Do you notice, on a daily basis, how the city affects you?
Wrap your body in the city is an open invitation to an urban walk, a performance, and a public debate at Kunsten, Museum of Art in Aalborg. The event will start at Gabels Torv where you will be invited to an outdoor performance with members of the social project Arctic Street Food. After the performance, we will walk through the city to Kunsten. On the walk, we will explore how we experience the urban spaces. Specific places produce emotions, moods and brings us into contact with our forgotten memories. These emotional responses to places are conditioned on who we are and our relationship to the city. Back at Kunsten, everyone is invited to a public debate about urban spaces as a site that elicit our memories, emotions, and experiences of belonging or not belonging. Apart from Amalia Fonfara, Sania Dzalbe, and Mads Siegenfeldt (founder of Arctic Street Food) the Dansh/Greenlandic dramaturg Siri Poulsen will participate in the conversation. Poulsen has produced the sonic walk Traces of Greenland. Here she invites visitors and people living in the district of Christianshavn in Copenhagen to experience their local surroundings in a different way. Thereby, she approaches places that connects to Greenland in new ways.
17.00-18.00 Meet up at Gabels Torv where the Arctic Stree food foodtruck has been installed. Performance with Arctic Street Food and Amalia Fonfara. After that we walk back to Kunsten.
