What would it feel like to live inside a new more sensuous society – even if only for a moment?

Flowing Inhabitation is an immersive performance piece by Sisters Hope, where Kunsten and Sisters Hope invite you to move in and inhabit a Sensuous Society within the exhibition Sisters Hope & Kunsten at Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg.

During the inhabitation, participants – referred to as inhabitants – are invited into a shared, lived experience that unfolds over a Cycle - nearly 24 hours. You will eat, sleep and live together with Sisters Hope’s performers and staff inside the exhibition, exploring the poetic layers of being human and being together in a possible future world where sensuousness and poetry are foundational societal premises.

The inhabitation takes its point of departure in our current ecological, economic and biological crises – the polycrisis - and imagines a paradigm shift towards a more sensuous and interconnected way of living. Through rituals, performative exercises and shared domestic life, Flowing Inhabitation offers a space to investigate how inhabiting the poetic and sensuous can be lived, felt and understood collectively.

Rooted in Sisters Hope’s ongoing performance practice and artistic research, the performance explores how sensuous and poetic inhabitation can evoke a deep, embodied experience of ecological connectedness – where everything is interrelated, and where presence, slowness and attention become central ways of being in the world.
