TALK: Helin Erdem + Carolynne Kaddu Rasmussen: Between Two Cultures – Moderator: Adnan Al-Adhami

How far should you go to look like the majority? How do you avoid becoming a cultural caricature instead of just a human being?

Helin Erdem is a radio/social media/TV host on P3/P3 and DRTV. She was part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s Talent Team (2021 - April 2023). In the summer of 2022, she launched the P3 social programme Helin Bliver Venner Med (Helen Befriends). She has also recently been appointed as host for the 2023 P3 mission[NW1] .

Carolynne Kaddu Rasmussen made a name for herself in Helt sort with Melvin Kakooza. With openness and humour, the mother and son take a look at Danish customs and traditions, which Carolynne has taken pride in acquiring and instilling in her five children. Born in Uganda and raised in Kenya, she came to Denmark in 1992. She shares her story with honesty, warmth and humour.

Moderator: Adnan Al-Adhami is a journalist and satirist on DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation). He is best known for his programme Adnan på tværs, in which he humorously exposes the hypocrisy of politicians and companies who practise the likes of greenwashing.

Soundvenue describes Emma Sehested Høeg as “… a superstar of the new era.” Now this multi-talented performer presents her musical project Dame Dearest at the Summer Lounge.

Hovering between music, film and performance, Dame Dearest features soft rhythms in a mixture of pop, soul and passion. Dame Dearest is an extremely ambitious project, in which Emma Sehested Høeg reaches beyond a typical concert experience.

We’re talking spectacular. sensual, flamboyant and seductive.

Ah! What a treat! We are so delighted that the DJ, TV and radio host Jonas Visti is stopping by Kunsten Summer Lounge for a few happy hours in the park. It’s going to be fabulous! Visti is best known as the host on P8 Jazz, where he makes our Saturdays cosier with personal analogue music in Vistis Vinyler, and from the TV programme Satans Sorte Vinyler on DR2.

TOURNAMENT: Football Darts in the Park – Win Great Prizes

3.00 - 5.00 PM

Are you a football mad, a roligan or a bench warmer? Whatever you are, check out Sydbank’s giant football-dart tournament. Kunsten and Sydbank will be awarding some great 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. All you have to do is turn up and sign up on the day.

In the park, you can take on friends throughout the Summer Lounge – both those you know and those you haven’t met yet – in football billiards, kubb or ladder golf.

Workshop: Consent Printing with the Danish Family Planning Association

6.00 – 7.00 PM

The Aalborg branch of the Danish Family Planning Association is fighting for safer nightlife in the city’s streets. So, as part of Kunsten Summer Lounge, they invite everyone who wishes to join them in a consent printing workshop, thereby helping to spread the word in the streets of Aalborg. So, bring any old t-shirts and tote bags you may have lying around and help start conversations!

There may be limited spaces for workshops in the park, so we advise you to turn up well in advance.

CLOTHING EXCHANGE STATION: POPUPLOP

3:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Stop by POPUPLOP’s fashion activist clothing exchange station, which will take place in the park every Wednesday during the summer. Heaven knows what you’ll find! If it’s time to clear out your wardrobe and make room for new finds, then bring a pile of your clothes! The more, the better!

POPUPLOP is supported by GRO SELV, a community of young people who experiment throughout Denmark with green initiatives.
