The waiting list for seeing a psychiatrist is long. More people than ever are being diagnosed with mental illness. Children and young people in particular are having a tough time – but the older generations too are suffering. We often blame the performance society, social media and the culture of perfection, but could there be other reasons?
Sonja Lovdal comes from a background as a photographer and video producer in the advertising industry, but now works as an influencer on social media and has more than 130,000 followers.
Marlene Briciet Lauritsen is a professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at Aalborg University and Psykiatrien in North Jutland Region, and head of the research unit for child and adolescent psychiatry.
Moderator: Svend Brinkmann is a professor of psychology whose trenchant views on people and society have made him a national poet.
The Danish singer, songwriter and guitarist Julie Ellinor performs a brand of pop that exudes nerve and honesty. With her charismatic voice and ear for catchy pop melodies, this up-and-coming singer invites listeners into a universe of dusty synthesizers, airy guitar surfaces and unremitting bass lines.
In just a short time, her irresistible hits, including ‘Disarray’ and ‘Mislead’ have won Julie Ellinor a great deal of attention on the radio stations P3, P6 and in Gaffa.
3.00 - 5.00 PM
Are you a football mad, a roligan or a bench warmer? Whatever you are, check out Sydbank’s giant football-dart tournament. Kunsten and Sydbank will be awarding some great 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. All you have to do is turn up and sign up on the day.
In the park, you can take on friends throughout the Summer Lounge – both those you know and those you haven’t met yet – in football billiards, kubb or ladder golf.
6.00 - 7.00 PM
Who do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? What does your face tell you?
In this workshop, we will be creating special self-portraits. We will experiment with expression, materials and techniques. The results will be radically different from any photographic depictions. Inge Tranter, the Kunsten Kreativitarium artist in residence, will guide us through these creative excesses. Anyone can take part, regardless of age and experience.
There may be limited spaces for workshops in the park, so we advise you to turn up well in advance.
3.00 - 8.30 PM
Stop by POPUPLOP’s fashion activist clothing exchange station, which will take place in the park every Wednesday during the summer. Heaven knows what you’ll find! If it’s time to clear out your wardrobe and make room for new finds, then bring a pile of your clothes! The more, the better!
POPUPLOP is supported by GRO SELV, a community of young people who experiment throughout Denmark with green initiatives.
