Embarrassing anecdotes, bad habits, infidelity and family conflicts. There are some secrets we only dare to share anonymously – for example in the P1 radio programme Secrets or Miriam Poulsen’s Instagram. But what is the anatomy of the secret – and why is it so oppressive to keep secrets to oneself?
Karen Vallgårda (b. 1980) is an associate professor of history at the University of Copenhagen, where she researches childhood, divorce, family violence and emotional history in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Miriam Poulsen (b.1986) makes a living from her social media, and in 2014 she started a project in which she shares the secrets of her followers. It quickly took off.
Moderator: Svend Brinkmann is a professor of psychology whose trenchant views on people and society have made him a national poet.
Girls in Airports is one of the few young Danish indie jazz bands that have made a successful breakthrough abroad. The group have toured in countries including the United States, China and Brazil, and throughout most of Europe.
The music goes on compositional walks in the mind. It makes room for the big, existential thoughts that reflect how, in their encounter with music, the members of the group delve into something bigger than themselves, transforming from an ‘I’ to a ‘we’. Join them on this journey into their music and into yourself.
Girls in Airports consists of Martin Stender (saxophone), Mathias Holm (keyboards), Victor Dybbroe (percussion) and Anders Vestergaard (drums).
3.00 - 5.00 PM
Are you a football mad, a roligan or a bench warmer? Whatever you are, check out Sydbank’s giant football-dart tournament. Kunsten and Sydbank will be awarding some great 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. All you have to do is turn up and sign up on the day.
In the park, you can take on friends throughout the Summer Lounge – both those you know and those you haven’t met yet – in football billiards, kubb or ladder golf.
6.00 - 7.00 PM
Join a croquis session in the park. We’ll use drawing to explore the beautiful folds and shapes of the body – amidst the positive vibrations of Kunsten Summer Lounge. The artist Inge Tranter will guide us through different techniques, at which anyone can try their hand.
There may be limited spaces for workshops in the park, so we advise you to turn up well in advance.
If you can’t get enough croquis, check out the autumn programme for evening Croquis in the Exhibition sessions.
3.00 - 8.30 PM
Stop by POPUPLOP’s fashion activist clothing exchange station, which will take place in the park every Wednesday during the summer. Heaven knows what you’ll find! If it’s time to clear out your wardrobe and make room for new finds, then bring a pile of your clothes! The more, the better!
POPUPLOP is supported by GRO SELV, a community of young people who experiment throughout Denmark with green initiatives.
