This is a follow-up to Adnan og de grønne løgne, a TV programme on DR. It’s all about climate, greenwashing and confusing labelling schemes.
Jesper Dalgaard Pøhler is a sustainability consultant, author and project manager at Aalborg University.
Selma de Montgomery is a high school pupil and climate activist. Even though, as a 17-year-old, she does not yet have the right to vote in elections, for some time now she has been using her voice to urge politicians and the rest of the establishment to take climate action now.
Moderator: Adnan Al-Adhami is a journalist and satirist on DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation). He is best known for his programme Adnan på tværs, in which he humorously exposes the hypocrisy of politicians and companies who practise the likes of greenwashing.
The indie rock group Blaue Blume is one of the favourites in magazines like Gaffa and Soundvenue. Their flawless debut album Syzygy was heralded as one of the best Danish albums of the year. Ever since, they have been garnering rave reviews.
Their lead singer Jonas Schmidt leads us into the deepest recesses of our minds with his vulnerable, yet extremely powerful voice. Prepare for bombastic, authentic art rock.
Blaue Blume consists of Jonas Smith, Peter Bøgvad Hansen and Søren Jensen Buhl.
3.00 - 5.00 PM
Are you a football mad, a roligan or a bench warmer? Whatever you are, check out Sydbank’s giant football-dart tournament. Kunsten and Sydbank will be awarding some great 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. All you have to do is turn up and sign up on the day.
In the park, you can take on friends throughout the Summer Lounge – both those you know and those you haven’t met yet – in football billiards, kubb or ladder golf.
3.00 - 8.30 PM
Have you ever taken a walk with an island?
Evolution = survival. As the oceans rise, flat sandy islands have to reinvent themselves in order to survive. The design of the Inflatable Island was inspired by the iconic white coral islands of the Maldives, which, as a result of climate change, are subject to erosion and flooding.
The artist Søren Dahlgaard, PhD (b. 1973) believes that, to combat the rise in sea level, flat islands must evolve into inflatable islands. Then the water can rise as much as it wants. The islands will float on top.
Dahlgaard’s works often use play to activate his audience, based on a belief in the inherent qualities of ‘playing nicely together’. So, feel free to touch and interact with the work. Join a view friends (either those you know or ones you never met before) and, in the company of a Kunsten volunteer, go for a stroll around the park with the island.
6.00 - 7.00 PM
Come and explore what a flower or other plant can be. We will base our work on Shara Hughes’s fantasy landscapes, creating plants and flowers using coffee filters, tissue paper, newspaper - you name it! Inge Tranter, the Kunsten Kreativitarium artist in residence, will guide us through these creative excesses. Anyone can take part, regardless of age and experience.
There may be limited spaces for workshops in the park, so we advise you to turn up well in advance.
Do you fancy making even more plants? Or lino prints? Or a cyanotype? Or your own watercolour paint? There’s a load of creative activities in this autumn’s programme!
3.00 – 8.30 PM
Stop by POPUPLOP’s fashion activist clothing exchange station, which will take place in the park every Wednesday during the summer. Heaven knows what you’ll find! If it’s time to clear out your wardrobe and make room for new finds, then bring a pile of your clothes! The more, the better!
POPUPLOP is supported by GRO SELV, a community of young people who experiment throughout Denmark with green initiatives.
