Works from Kunsten’s collection juxtaposed sensuously and aesthetically with the universe of Sisters Hope. Enter a poetic, reflective alternative to our hectic environment.
In February 2026, you can experience an unusual, poetic presentation of works from the museum’s collection curated by Sisters Hope – an activist performance collective.
The exhibition will totally transform Kunsten into a Sisters Hope universe. You will encounter mysterious Sisters Hope objects alongside works from Kunsten’s collection. During the exhibition you will have the opportunity to participate in Sisters Hope’s special performance universe, which paves the way for new perspectives on the power of art.
Our collection of art is the museum’s most important foundation; it forms the basis for the museum’s exhibitions, public engagement/interpretation and research activities. It reflects a time, a society and a perspective, which used to exist, and which we want to preserve for posterity. In the Sisters Hope x Kunsten exhibition project, Kunsten will hand over its permanent collection to Sisters Hope – for a renewed, alternative look at our common cultural heritage.
The internationally renowned performance group, Sisters Hope has established a new wave of performance art, which hovers between art, activism, research and learning. Their mission is to democratise via practices that not only view art, but also inhabit it. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the artist Gry Worre Hallberg founded Sisters Hope as a perspective on the world and life that departs from economic rationality, and heads towards aestheticism, sensuousness and poetry. Sisters Hope believe that art has the potential to create concrete changes – in you and me, and in society. The exhibition and their occupation of Kunsten in 2026 will provide a unique opportunity to be part of their artistic universe.
